A plain account of what this site records when you read our review of AvaTrade, why we record it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Suppose you find our review of AvaTrade through a search engine, read the first few paragraphs, follow a link to a comparison table, and close the tab. In that ordinary visit, some information is generated and stored: the page you requested, the time of the request, an approximate location derived from your network address, the browser and device type you used, and the page that referred you to us. We keep this kind of measurement so we can see which parts of the review readers actually read, which pages load slowly, and which search terms bring people to the site.
From that single example you can generalise the whole picture. This site is an independent editorial resource. We are not AvaTrade, we are not affiliated with AvaTrade, and we do not open accounts, take deposits, hold client money, or give financial advice. Because we run a publication rather than a brokerage, the data we touch is ordinary website data - measurement, technical logs, and anything you choose to type into the contact form on this site.
We do not ask you to register, we do not ask for identity documents, and we do not ask for bank or payment details. If a page ever invites you to visit a broker's own website, that visit happens on the broker's site under the broker's own privacy terms, not ours.
Where the Data Sits and Who Sees It
Our servers and the service providers that keep the site running are located in more than one country, and some of them sit outside Nigeria. That means measurement data and technical logs may be stored or processed abroad. Wherever the data goes, we limit recipients to those who need it to host the site, keep it secure, measure readership, or respond to a message you send us.
Recipients fall into a short set: the hosting provider that serves the pages, the analytics provider that aggregates visits, and any provider we use to receive and answer contact form messages. We share aggregated figures - page views, session counts, general country-level breakdowns - and these figures do not identify you. We do not sell reader data, and we do not hand it to a broker for marketing.
We keep technical logs for a limited period and then delete or aggregate them. Measurement data is retained no longer than needed to understand readership trends.
Know Your Rights and Use Them
You can ask us to confirm whether we hold data about you, to give you a copy, to correct anything wrong, to delete it, or to stop certain processing. You can also object to measurement processing, and you can withdraw any consent you previously gave. These rights apply regardless of where you read the site from, and we will not treat a request as a reason to restrict your access to the review.
To exercise any of them, use the contact form on this site and describe what you want. We do not publish a postal address or a telephone line, and we ask you not to send identity documents unless we specifically request one to match a record. We aim to answer within a reasonable period. If you believe we have handled your data badly, you may also complain to the data protection authority in your country; in Nigeria that is the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
You can limit measurement yourself through your browser settings or by blocking scripts, though some parts of the site may then work less smoothly.
Set Age Limits and Rely on a Legal Basis
This site is written for adults. It is not directed at children, we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we do not market to minors. If you believe a child has sent us a message or otherwise provided data, use the contact form and we will remove it.
We process measurement data on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding whether the review is being read and works properly, balanced against your rights. We process contact form messages on the basis of your consent or our legitimate interest in answering you. Where the law requires consent for a particular measurement tool, we ask for it before that tool runs.
We do not use your data to make automated decisions about you, and we do not build profiles for advertising. Questions about any of this can go through the contact form on this site.
